Here are some photographs from our lessons with Tatiana about possible packaging ideas, layout, typography ideas and C.R.A.P. I found this to be quite interesting and really helpful for my publication. It helped me to see things in different lights as well as proper ways of designing publications. I also learnt how much work actually goes into making a publication (specifically doing it on your own.)
PHOTOGRAPHS/ SHOOTING WITH MY CHOSEN COMMUNITY MEMBER:
GYM SESSION: Here is just a quick-overview of my time at the Franz’s gym. During my session taking photographs of him, it felt quite weird because people kept staring at me wondering why he has someone taking photographs of him. But throughout his trainings with his clients, I also got to meet some of his clients/ friends. While interviewing and talking to them, I learnt a lot more about Franz’s involvement with the gym community and how many people enjoy being trained by him as well as how they in some way have been encouraged by him whether it be through fitness, work, or personal matters. I realised how health is something very important to Franz as he focuses not only on peoples physical health but as well as emotional, metal and spiritual health too. Some of his gym buddies and clients even say how rare it is for them to find trainers like him who don’t just “want their money” but he actually cares for them in the long run too and not just about gym things nor physical health. Which is why he calls most of his clients rather than clients. He values his relationships with them very much.
CHURCH INVOLVEMENT: Another community Franz is involved with is church. He is a worship leader as well as one of the music teams drummer. I also got to learn how spiritual Franz is and how strongly he holds on to his faith in God. I Found it so interesting how someone as big as him worship leads for it just comes to show how you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. I think that it was nice to see this other side of him where I see his involvement with church and seeing him lead the church into beautiful worship music. I got to see this “sensitive side”, where he not only works hard on his outward being but his inward being also.
LAYOUT PROCESS:
INTERVIEWS WITH FRANZ: Before we started the interview process, Franz was already excited to do the interview which made me feel less nervous talking to him about his life. During the interview, he was not too worried about being in front of a camera. Also, I realised how optimistic he is about life and I enjoyed our conversation, for he talked with some much enthusiasm and made it more interesting for me to listen too. I also quite like how he found it easy to talk to me about deeper and more personal things such as his difficult circumstances regarding, family matters which I know it would hard for some people to do.
