Photographic Investigation/ Mind-map Re-defined: (Week 2-3)

Re- defined or extended Mindmap:

For my mind-map from last week’s class, I decided to go more in-depth to get a better understanding of my place, as well as get more ideas too. So, for me to understand, I visited my place and walked around it’s pathways. I walked and sat to know what I felt about the place and what it meant for me.

Through the time spent there, ideas started coming. Firstly, I had to realise what the place meant for me and why it was significant. It’s significant it is my place of serenity. I come here . It also brings back memories of me and family

Water related texture and lines:

For the images above, I had used the texture mode using Adobe capture. By using the texture mode, it had captured interesting details of the water ripples as well as the wooden decks. I found it interesting because of the way it captured the movement of the water.

Mixed Close-up Textures:

These images were taken close-up of a tree, bridge deck and wooden deck. Out of these textures I found the tree texture to be the most interesting for its interesting lines.

Random Imagery/drawings around my place:

These were some random little paintings/ images someone had painted onto rocks and boards. I don’t think I would use these for my typography but I still found it quite interesting to capture. I think that it still showed a whole image and was still quite obvious that it was a drawing which is why I won’t be using it.

Trees and Plant Lines:

I think that these images are quite nice and look like illustrations but I find them just nice to look at but not as interesting as the close-up images of the plants, water ripples, trees etc for within the close-up images, they are not as noticeable and easy to recognise. I found that the close-up images to be more interesting and is something to consider as do further research on my place.

For my next visit, I should consider doing more close-ups and deeper digging when it comes to textures. I should try to take photos of the less obvious things.

Plant Patterns:

These are patterns that Adobe Capture created when I took images of the plants. I think I could have experimented more with the pattern mode. I think I just found the texture mode to be more interesting and I liked working with it more because it showed the details of the place rather than mixing things together to create a pattern. But I think I could still experiment more withe pattern mode to see if I could find a pattern that I do like or is interesting.

Colour Scheme found through my place:

( Colour findings at my place.) (Most of the colours that it detected were natural like greens and browns.) Not sure if I would want to use these palettes but it was interesting testing out this mode.
