(Side note: These were the photos from my Mood board post.)
As I did further research, I came across their Facebook page and found some more information about what this rock painting is all about and why they do it.
I found out that their main purpose is to encourage creativity, exploration and community all while having fun. There are no limitations to what you want to paint but paint to your hearts desires. Through the encouragement of creativity, exploration and community I also feel like it encourages mental health awareness for it feels like a stress relieving activity which I will further explain below.
“Rocks reflect the opinions and attitudes of the individual artists, and not those of the admin. We cannot be held responsible for people being offended… Or anything else for matter.”
Lake Pano rocks Community:
(Pictures taken from posts on Westie Rocks community page on Facebook.)

“Creating art and spreading happiness by painting rocks to hide and find in West Auckland (New Zealand) or wherever you may travel to. If you find an art rock, take a picture, share it with us here if you’d like and either keep it or re-hide the rock.” (But majority of the posts were hidden in Lake Panorama.
Overall, I found this to be quite interesting and an innovative way of bringing the community together as well as creating one too. Furthermore, I feel like it relates to my idea about mental health and it’s relation to nature for I see painting to be a stress relieving activity (Or as I like to think.) Painting is a stress-relieving activity and so is going for a walk at a park, a Lake or anywhere outdoors. Painting on the rocks represent the the relation between mental health and nature. Painting being the thing that calms someone down (mental health) while the rock is the natural object which represents nature/ the Lake. (There’s a relation/connection.)
(Also, this could be something I look further into or back when doing my typefaces. Could possibly play around with rock textures, shapes and sizes, since this activity is part of the story of Lake Panorama (It has also been going on for about a year now. (So, it’s still a somewhat recent activity.))
