Back to class reflection: On our first week back (considering our circumstances,) we have been working through online communication with one another and it really was a different experience for me. From having to see my classmates and lecturers in person, to communicating everything online. Having to do university online is a bit difficult but I still felt a sense of connection and care for one another through our first classes online which was really nice and comforting.
TASK 3: Posting stuff

For task 3, we were asked to take a picture of our pet, work space and or favourite space in the house and mine was the backyard. I find myself spending most of my time here since the lockdown has happened. It’s been nice just getting to enjoy the sun in my backyard.

The next part of the task was to create a poster including one image, typography of any choice and a line from our poem in a duration of 10-15mins. I think that through this simple exercise, it challenged us to kind of just do without thinking so much about it. I think that this poster came out quite interesting although it is quite simple. With this poster, I had removed the sold colour from the typeface and had filled it with one of my photographs from my place.

Here were a few tests I tried out during the process. I also think that these were also quite interesting especially the first test. Although the only problem with that one is that it is not as readable as I thought it would be.
TASK 7: 5 Best images

‘Here are a few of my favourite works so far. On this page, it showcases a bit of everything regarding my icon design experiments, my photography explorations, typeface poster experiment and a few typeface explorations using the typeface of my skeleton. For my place, I have chosen a Lake and with some of my work, I have mainly been experimenting with the textures and its environment. Moreover, I have mainly been interested in and focused on the idea of mental health and its relationship/connection with nature and natural environments.’
‘I’ve mainly been working on textures within a typeface and photography but at the moment I’m trying to experiment with illustration too. (Still working on it.)’
TASK 4: Collaboration Video Illustration

For Task 4 in amazing race, we were tasked to create a collaboration video with our classmates about thanking our frontline workers. During the chat and video call with one another, we decided to hold up a sign with an illustration related to our chosen frontline worker as well as say thank you after holding it up.
I think that this task was one of the my favourite tasks as our class was able to communicate and talk with one another about a project and get everybody’s inout on what we were going to do for the video. Also, it was nice to see everyone’s illustrations too and it gave us a chance to step out of our comfort zone by being in front of the camera rather than just being behind it.
