In regards to the research I had done and had gathered about line art, I had decided to take this illustrative style and try mix it with my photographs. With part 1, instead of connecting them all into one line, I had decided to try and just thinly outline certain subjects in my photographs to try and make them pop but in a way where it does not seem too distracting or messy. I think these came out quite interesting.

With this one above, I had outlined one of the plants that I had managed to photograph close up. I had decided to outline this to make it stand out from the blurred leaves behind it to give an interesting feel. With this experimentation between photography and illustrations, I was thinking of connecting mind and place. In real life you would not see white outlines like this; when you are stressed, you don’t really have time to imagine and let your mind wander but when it is time to relax and destress, you are able to let your imagination go free and your mind wander. In relation to this idea and my place, my place is like a remedy to reduce stress and anxiety which is why I keep talking about the ideas of de-stressing and peace. For me, it was an interesting thing to think about. Also, by adding these outlines, in a way it makes the photographs come alive in an imaginative yet relaxing way (by the way I look at it.)
Lastly, another thing I thought about when looking at these images, it is as if there is a contrast between real life and fantasy/imagination. (The images being real while the lines are just being imagined. ‘seen from the mind.’)

With this image of a footpath , I decided to outline the walkway to emphasise it and let it stand out from the leaves and trees. I decided to do this for similar reasons as the image above.

For this photograph, I had decided to outline the flax plant leaves individually. The process for this image was time consuming but was relaxing for me at the same time. (I find it so interesting to look at because of how the lines just make the flax pop in this image.)

Lastly, I had decided to outline the wooden bench and a few rocks. Looking at the image, we can see the bench is empty. Knowing this we can tell that this place is not crowded and seems to be quiet. I tried to capture essence of the place and show how slow-paced my place is.
