Digitalisation of my Typeface:

Here is the digitalisation of my typeface from a-z. (For my typeface, I had explored the smaller letters.)
Moreover, during this process, I realised how long it actually takes to make a typeface as it takes a lot of effort to create one. But I’m glad to see how my typeface has turned out.
I think that it had showcased my concept quite well in regards to the connection between mind and place/nature, as well as mixing literal and abstract elements.
Some letter processes:

b, d, p, q process:
Here are some screenshots of the process of the development of some letters.
To make it easier for myself, I looked at the similarities between letters and just reflected and refined them to save myself time. Also, I had decided to do this to have consistency between letters.
l, m, f, x, w process:
Here were some of the other letter developments where I had explored and questioned the placement of lines, weight and the way the serifs/ends would curve.
For some letters, I had experimented with whether I should connect the layers together (shown in f and x) or whether I should just layer. Some I have decided to connect them to keep the connection and continuity in the letters, while some letters looked better with a bit of layering just like how the flax leaves layer on top of each other as they grow side by side.

Other letter processes:
Here were some more letter processes. Through the design of my letters, I wanted to continue to remain consistent and cohesive which is why some letters are based off other letters.
But as I tried having the same top part of my v and y letter the same, I just thought that the y would have looked much better with a u top part rather than the v.
After having finished my alphabet, I started to lay it out to see what letter layout would look better.
Reflection after feedback:
After having some feedback, I had agreed and will go back to do refine some of the curves of the letters for them to fit better beside each other. (As explained in my next post.) But other than that, still quite happy with the outcome.
