Drafts and Sketches:

After having practiced and explored line art illustrations/ one-line illustrations, I kept drawing some more illustrations regarding my concept about reducing anxiety.
With the first illustration, I tried to explore and resemble the idea of my mind being consumed by my place…where my anxiety, worries and negative thoughts were being replaced with positive thoughts which was in the form of the natural elements from my place. Moreover, the plants that cloud my mind resemble the purification of thoughts. It’s as if my place is ‘cleansing’ my mind, trying to fill my mind with thoughts that don’t make me anxious, hence the plants.
On the second illustration, I did an illustration that resembled me being overwhelmed and full of anxiety. This represents the emotions and feelings I have before coming to the Lake. Through the illustration, I experimented with the word and a scribble over my head to resemble mixed feelings and worries.
Digitalisation:

I think these came out quite great once I digitalised them. I only had to fix a few things on my illustrations which was the thumb and the word anxiety. I’m now planning to experiment with colours to see how it would look.
Simple trials:

Here were just a few colours I had tried out but these looked too monochromatic, so I’m planning to explore some more ideas regarding colours. I was also testing out how it would look if I had repeated this illustration rather than doing just one. Looked quite interesting, just wondering how I’m going to lay it out on my publication.
Rock Layers:

Here were some extra things I did in regards to the Lake Panorama rock community. After doing research and looking at more line illustrations, I came across the idea of layering things under my line illustrations with solid colours but I also tried experimenting with the textures and creating them into the forms of rocks from my place too. I did this by creating the outline shape of the rocks then either filling it with colours and or the textures. The reason behind this was to resemble and bring in this hidden community/story into my publication. Just to remind you, at my place I had discovered that people paint whatever they want onto the rocks and then hide it for someone else to find. In doing so, people who find the rocks either take a photo of it and put it on the rock community Facebook page and take it home, or they simply just re-hide them. After taking to a few members from this community, I learnt that people either just do it for fun, they do it to stay connected to people through creativity, or simply to de-stress.
