Summative Presentation: (Week 12)

The process:
Old presentation:

Here were some screenshots of my earlier presentation I had made before I had changed the aim, plot and concept of my game (when I still had antagonists.) For my final summative presentation, I had also slightly changed the amount of my text on my powerpoint as it had a bit too much to read.

Moreover, I also had to change the gamification canvas, plot and storyline as the aim was of my game became less adventurous and story related but more poetic and a game revolved around giving a message to the user about staying calm, relaxing and remembering that in a fast paced world it is okay to slow down. The real aim of the game is for the user to be at ease and be able to de-stress while playing it.

Lastly, I think that it was a good move deciding to change my game as the message of my game and place wasn’t really connecting to the game itself. By changing he game from an interactive game where the aim is about defeating the bad guys- The stress guys which represent her problems, to a peaceful game of rearranging sentences that hopefully give meaning to the user as well as reminders seemed to work better.

Overall reflection of project and process/ Future developments:

Overall, I am quite happy with the outcome and I had found the process of game design so interesting. I am quite happy with how my game turned out as well as the newer concept as it felt like it had communicated the message about de-stress much better. Moreover, I wish I could have developed my game even further in terms of character and possibly involve more movement and more background designs for different levels from different perspectives of the place (visually) to give more variety of the game. Also, with the different levels, I would think of using different sentences that are gentle reminders to slow down and or something similar.

In the future, if I were to develop this game further, I definitely could see this as a mobile game rather than a pc and or a console game but still could be a game for these systems too. I think that seeing this as a mobile game would be nice because people could bring this game with them on the go. If ever they’re feeling stressed at work and or at school, people are able to just pull out their phones and play this to de-stress.
