Final refinements of my poster:
(Original Poster):
After receiving feedback and comments from Tatiana and Casy, I decided to take the feedback to refine my work. One of the comments from Casy about my poster was to do with the punctuation as they were solid in the original as they stood out against the typeface and the illustration.
Moreover, I also played around with the hand positions for they did not feel like they were reaching out as much. I found it quite tricky to work with the placement of the hands as my typeface is not really meant for making shapes due to the serifs, curves, tails and ascending parts of the letterforms.
Here were some more trials of me playing around with the layout of the poster. Although I prefer the look of the angled hands reaching for each other, it did not lead the eyes as much and did not work that well alongside the typeface as much as the one below (The final poster.) (I found it quite tricky to position the typeface around the illustration of the hands reaching for each other.)
Final Poster:
In the end, I decided to just go with the this one as the typeface and the illustration position worked better together here. As Casy says, “The illustration’s position helps leads the eyes through the poster better than the other one.m)
