South Campus Group Shot: (Week 2)

All our shots in one video:

(Without sound)

(With normal sound)

For the shots, we did a few similar ones but at different parts around the campus just to see what kind of shots/ techniques we might want to use for our group video. We also decided to put our shots altogether rather than seperate to see how it certain shots might look beside each other when we cut to the next scenes and or location.

Shots experimented and trialed (In order):
  • Over the shoulder shot
  • Medium shot
  • Medium full shot/ Full shot
  • Low angle
  • Worm view angle
  • Over the shoulder shot
  • Medium shot
  • Medium full shot/ Full shot
  • Worm view angle
  • Low angle
  • Long shot
  • Ground level shot
  • High angle
  • Dutch angle
  • Over the head shot

We also tried out a bit of movements like panning and a tracking shot. Personally, I found the tracking shot a bit difficult doing it by hand as I kept moving and was struggling to stay steady. So when we retake the shots, I hope to use a gimbal to keep the movement smooth and less shaky.

Reflection: Overall, I think that after having tried and explored certain shots, we started to have a better vision of what we might like to do. I think that to get the story and what we want for the video, it would be good to create a storyboard just so we can visually see what our video would look like rather than just taking shots here and there.
