Group Gimbal challenge:
After having explored and learnt about camera movements, our group went out into the campus to try out movements as well as explore the possible movement techniques we might want to use for our promo video. Through the exploration, we tried out the movement techniques: panning, truck (side to sides), tilt as well as the vertigo effect using the gimbal. I think after having explored a few movements, the movements that i could see our video using is possibly the panning, truck and tilt as we show the environment of the campus. I don’t think we’ll be using the vertigo affect as it adds an uneasy feeling as well as gives this feeling that something bad is about to happen which is something we don’t want to communicate about this campus.
We also, decided to try the front as it is the entrance of the campus as well as is one of the first things you first see when you come into the campus. With this choice of location, it showcases the naturalistic environment that south campus has to offer. It showcases and offers the calmness of the campus through the beautiful naturalistic features.
Through the use of panning and truck, we mainly wanted to focus on the landscape of the front of the campus as south campus had a lot to offer when it comes to it’s natural environment.
