Overview of Moodboard:

After having looked and researched for ideas for typography and (mainly) illustration inspiration, I had come up with this moodboard. For my moodboard, it had consisted of more line art inspiration through static image, as well as motion graphics and moving image, which had a similar feel of my project ‘Natural Thoughts’, as well as what I was looking for. I was looking for work that had simplicity, work that evoked calmness whether it be through the use of colour and or the use of lines and curves through the one line or line art illustrations.
In terms of typography, I think I either want to try and work with the typography that I created last semester or probably something more simpler either something that looks more handwritten or either something that showcases that natural element- something that showcases the concept of mental health and or nature. But since I’m most likely going to be including my illustrations, I’m don’t think I want to use a busy typeface.
During the process, I kind of struggled finding title sequences that matched with the feel and or the concept of my project- which is finding serenity/ relieving stress through nature. But there were a few title sequences that (even though were not related to my concept,) I did find interesting, inspirational or something I too could think about for the title sequence of my short film.
Looking back:

Before gathering more inspirations for my film project, I decided to look back at what I did last semester just to refresh my mind as well as look back for inspiration on how I could push my concept forward but this time through film. Looking back, the main physical ideas that came back were about the natural environment, greenery as well as the rock community. I also remember trialing lines with the photograph too which is something I might try again this semester.
Moreover, I also looked back at my adobe capture textures of my place to see if I could try and work with them again or simply just bring me inspiration. So far, I’m not quite sure if I will want to work with these textures at all this semester just because I already have other elements that I want to try and explore more which is the line art as well as the rock concept too.

Lastly, I looked at the illustrations I had for my publication. I think for my video, I definitely want to try and use my line art and possibly show the line art through time; to showcase the movement of the drawing (which I will show an idea and a video I took inspiration from under Moving Image/ motion graphic.)
Moodboards:
Static Image:

For the static image, I was still quite inspired with the simplistic style of line art as well as handwritten looking typefaces to just give that personal fee. Although the main concept is about mental health through nature, I still want to keep that personal feel to the video, showcasing that it’s still a personal experience- showcasing my experience with Lake Panorama.
Through this project, I had also started to realise one of the styles I really like as well as gravitate towards which is quite feminine, soft and design work that look quite calming. (Doesn’t mean to say I only like this style- but it is one of the styles that I really like. But I think it’s also a good thing as this in itself is like a de-stress project as I am working with this calm like style.)

Moving Image/Motion Graphics:

In terms of Motion graphics, these were the ones that caught my eye more with moving image and gave me ideas for my video. For the motion graphics, I was looking for ones that were related or somewhat related to the style or just something I wanted to play with and explore.
Links:
With this one, I mainly liked the the way images worked with the text as well as the subtle movement of the small images across the page. (This is also showcased in the link below- shows more of her project.)
This one was probably the most inspirational, related to my style as well as the one of the ones I liked most. I liked the simplicity of it as well as how they drew in one smooth line. I also liked how the sound worked with the illustrations and even so the typeface. I also want a similar typeface to what they have used here- but I’ll probably just play around with it.

This one was also somewhat similar to the style I want to do. With this motion graphic,I’m assuming she masked layers together to have a mix between movement and stillness which is something interesting to think about. (part of the image was still while other parts moved.)
This one looked quite cool too and I liked how they were also related to nature as well. I liked the simplicity of this one too. How they had a small colour palette where they only worked with 3 colours.
This one above was also quite interesting to kook at and is something I would probably try out too. This was also related to my concept of mental health but rather depicting what mental health is and what types of disorders there affect their mental health.
Title Sequences (I’ve found so far that inspire me):
https://www.artofthetitle.com/title/anne-with-an-e/
I found this opening sequence of a series called Anne with an E and the moving image on this is simply amazing and so mesmerising. This title sequence has a collage feel to the way it was laid out and masked. It has a very fantasy and imaginary feel. In the beginning we first have a cold and lonely sense of winter and or darkness? which later leads to a warmer more cheerful feel/ moment in time. It was also quite nice how instead of just laying out the credits on the screen, they gave this look that it was engraved on the tree branches to make it really apart of the story and place.
Not sure If I myself might dot his as it seems difficult but might be something I could still test and try, see more on how I could do this.

This one is also one of the techniques that I found quote cool. This title sequence as well as the whole film ‘Loving Vincent’ was created by a group of painters and painted every single frame. Just thought this was really cool and something I could consider in terms of doing motion graphics. (Has this hyperlapse/ Timelapse feel to it too.)

This one was a simpler title sequence and had no motion graphics to the typeface. But was still something to look into.
