Exploring movement: (Week 3)

For this week, we started to take and explore shots that had involved movement. To do this, we had used the fluid tripod to keep a smooth and steady look for the movements of the shots. But we had also used the gimbal when it came to do movements which involved us following the subject. For example, we had used it when we tried the vertigo effect/ dolly zoom, truck, pedestal as well as the crane shot.

Moreover, with the shots, we tried to get shots of us interacting with the space/ locations of the campus as we wanted to also do some transition shots from us talking in our interviews to us exploring and or interacting with the campus.

Thumbnail- Bridge Entrance

I was in-charge of taking shots at the bridge that was near the entrance of the campus. (Although, we did help one another for our locations in the process.)

We chose this part of the campus as it is the first thing you see when you drive into/ enter the campus. Through the shots that were taken, I think there are some possible shots we could use for our promo video either placed in Sharon’s part of the interview, or simply in the montage part of our video.

The shots that I think we shouldn’t use is mainly the vertigo/ dolly zoom affect as it gives off an uneasy feeling which is not what we want to promote in our promo video. But other then that, I think that the other movement techniques could be used in our video as well as some of these clips.

Behind the scenes Images:

Here we were in two of our locations. In the scenes, we tried to incorporate ourselves as well as have more shots of the environment and do landscape shots.
