Typographic Selection and Project Intro: Wk1
Understanding Typeface (Week 1): We were tasked to select 2 favourite type families and describe the differences and similarities by using the anatomy of typography. Also, start our mind-maps for our place.
Typographic Skeleton/Studies of Anatomy/ Skeleton pt.1: Wk 2-3
Understanding my Typeface skeleton (Week 2): For my chosen typeface (Joanna), we were tasked to redraw its anchor points so that we could understand the making of the typeface letter better. Also, we pointed out its anchor points to understand its skeleton.
Photographic Investigation/ Mind-map Re-defined: Wk 2-3
Investigating our place through Adobe Capture (Week 2): For this week, we experimented with Adobe capture to capture textures, patterns that couldn’t exactly be seen with colour or is obvious to us. Also, in the process, I redefined my map.
Concrete Poems/Final Poem:Wk 3-4
Creating Poems in 2 variations (Week 3-4): We were tasked to create 2 poems that showcased the mood, the feeling of our place as well as the meaning. But alongside our poem, created a concrete poem to visually show the emotions of our place using letters/words.
First Type Explorations: Wk 3-4
Exploration of our Typeface’s skeleton/ Keywords (Week 3-4): Continuing on with our chosen typeface (Joanna). We had used the skeletons from last week and combined it with the textures/patterns from our place to create interesting typefaces.

Photography Exploration: Wk 3-4
My place explored through Photographs (Week 3-4): For this week, I decided to explore my place through photography. I wanted to capture the place up close and from afar. (Will take more photographs the following weeks.)
Icon Designs: Wk 3-4
Designing my icons (Week 3-4): During weeks 3-4, I created my Icons for our collaborative map. During the process, I tried to keep in mind its relation to my place.
A Community Within: Wk 4-5
Finding a hidden community within my place (Week 4-5): Carrying on with the research of my place, I came across lots of painted rocks around the area (some more noticeable than others.) During the process, I came to find a community that paints rocks to spread happiness and creativity.

Discovering typography through Photographs: While visiting my place, I looked for ways and forms of typography shown in my place.

Research Questions I asked about my place and more ideas explored (Week 5): For me to understand my place better and dig a little deeper, I decided to ask myself more questions through the questions I had researched. Also, I did further research on my ideas to expand it.
More Type Explorations with Skeleton: Wk 5
Exploring more options (Week 5): Reflecting on the first type explorations, I think they were some good ideas and there are potential types I could further explore. But I decided to experiment more with the Joanna skeleton and the textures and patterns found at my place.

Creating more type moodboards: I had created moodboards with typefaces of all sorts to try and give me inspiration as well as give me a sense of direction. pt.2.

Sketching, sketching and more sketching: For Tatianas class, we were tasked to sketch up typefaces using grids and try to explore ways of expressing ideas about our place through our drawn typefaces.

Exploring and experimenting with ways of illustrations: Regarding my idea and research of the illustrative style of line art, I decided to give it a go and try this out with some of my photographs. (pt.1 of line explorations.)

Experimenting with Google street view: For the digital side of things, I tried to make a Panorama using Google street view; With the trial, we were asked to test out the app on one of the areas in our homes, our street view or anywhere near our homes.

Reflecting on our first set of sketches: After having experimented with our first set of sketches, I have done a questionnaire which indicates what I was thinking/ what has inspired these sketches.

Updating Icons designs: After hearing some feedback from classmates, I had decided to do some updates to my icon designs regarding colours.

Improving our set 1 sketches and digitalising some to test: After hearing some feedback from classmates and Tatiana (towards my first sketches), I had chosen a few to improve and push forward.

Researching other works and designers: For the contextual part of this assignment, we had to look for one article, theory, designer or a designed piece that relates to our design approach and our concepts.

Exploring my idea through Illustrations: After having done some research on line art illustrations, I started to explore this style while keeping my concept in mind.
Cinemagraph Workshop: Wk 7
Cinema-graph workshop with David and Marcos: For this session we worked with David and Marcos to try and understand what cinemapgraphs were and how to make them using photoshop.
My Panoramas: Wk 7
Creating my own panorama: It is now my turn to create my own panorama of my place. After getting use to google street view, I experimented again but this time to some at my place.

Creating my cinemagraph: After having done Davids workshop, I went to my place to take some videos of spots in the Lake to turn into cinemagraphs.

Sketching up layout Ideas: Started to sketch up some ideas of how I may layout my poster and publication. Moreover, knowing the direction and content of my publication.
My Typeface Digitalisation: Wk 8
Digitalising the rest of my typeface: For this week, I had also focused on finishing the rest of the digitalised version of my typeface.
Type Specimen: Wk 8
Exploring colours for my Type Specimen: After having finished my typeface from A-Z, I started exploring layout and colour of how to present the letterforms.
Colour Explorations/ Feedback on my typeface: Wk 9
Exploring colour palettes: After getting feedback about my colour choices, I was encouraged to explore some colour palettes and colour combinations to look at more possible looks for my work (in regards to colour.)

Refining my typeface: After receiving the feedback on my typeface, majority of the comments were mainly towards the curves and the kearning which I decided to refine and fix, for it to look better.
Joanna Poster: Wk 9
Finishing off my Joanna poster: This week, I went back to my Joanna poster to refine it and fix it up, while trying to make this cohesive with my own typeface poster and publication.

Putting my Typeface poster together: After having finished my Joanna poster, I started to explore the sketches of my own typeface poster layout.

Exploring my publication layout: After having created my content and figuring what direction I want my publication to focus on, I started to explore my publication layouts.

Layouts, grids and pacing: With the publication, I started to map up where I wanted to layout my elements in indesign but also in illustrator.
